Ok, too dig in a little deeper in our understanding of the ego-mind, try this on:

The ego-mind is looking for reasons to not take in anything that challenges what ‘it’ has held as ‘true’ (note small ‘t’).

One of the ways it does this is by distracting and confusing you, pulling you off into some kind of mind wondering. Sometimes that means focusing on ‘stuff’ rather than taking in what’s right in front of you.

If at any time you find yourself becoming spontaneously confused, tired or thinking about ‘stuff’ that just doesn’t matter, be warned; that’s your ego-mind trying to pull you away from a part of the material that could have profound meaning for you.

Another tactic the ego-mind loves doing is perfectionism for the purpose of delaying or just avoiding. When you are uptight and freaked-out about getting ‘it’ absolutely perfect, that’s your ego-mind fully in its glory. Your job is to notice that your ego-mind is noticing these things and then quickly move on.

I look forward to your feedback and comments.

Until next time; live with courage, Dov…

You are absolutely right when you expose the ego the real you show up. There is a practice or discipline on each of our part to learn us. This lesson is about knowing you the real you and believe me it has been a challenge to correct the wrong way of thinking and reacting to any given situation. Bravo the ego is exposed.

    Thank you Dov. Fascinating clarification.

Indeed the "ego-mind" for me, is the thing that nags in the back of my mind about what's right and what's wrong, what's complete and what's missing, not what is resonating deeply within me in the very moment I am living.

    Thank you Mr. Awesome!!
